Zman mentioned that he found a yahoo group for Managed DirectX, albeit an apparently dead yahoo group. That reminded me about a mailing list that anyone serious (or even not serious) about DirectX development should be subscribed to. It is not specific to Managed DirectX, but is dedicated to DirectX development in general.

It is hosted by Microsoft and you can find the sign up page here. Enjoy!!!

Adam, if you're talking about the DirectXDev list being dead, nothing could be further from the truth. Yeah, the copyright on the subscription website is old. But, I've only been subscribed to this list since October 1st, 2004, and already I have over 1550+ messages, just since then! It's a very active list.

And yes, I've been thinking about having some forums as soon as I move over to a proper hosting solution. Right now, I'm just using my managed web space/storage at GameDev to host the site and everything is done in static HTML. Once I make the move over to ASP.NET on a hosting solution, then you can expect to find some forums.

Plus also, I want to make Managed World less pathetic first. Right now it's pretty bare bones. I needs to be addin' some meat, yo! :)

I thought about putting forums on www.thezbuffer.com but I realised that there are already several managed directx forums that get little enough replies. (see http://www.thezbuffer.com/forums.aspx) I didn't want to dilute things any more. I find the managed DirectX newgroups is pretty good and Tom Miller even shows up once in a while (though not recently)

Good point ZMan! Dilution is bad. What the community needs isn't another nearly-empty site, it needs a couple power house sites to go to, at least when it comes to article and content. That's why if I have any issues with DirectX, I would most likely post them either to this mailing list, or to the Managed DirectX newsgroups.
