Congrats, Jeff. That's great news. My daughter turns five in January and every day is such a blessing.

No books to recommend, but my usual piece of advice to Dads-to-be is this:

All the books/classes tell the Mom-to-be to pack her "hospital bag" around the 8 month mark and leave it by the door. When it's time to head out, she has the things she needs to be comfortable -- her robe, her slippers, whatever.

I learned the hard way that this is just as important for Dads-to-be as well. When we went to the hospital the first time, we thought it was going to be a false alarm and we'd be home a few hours later. It was two weeks early, she had no pains or contractions, and there was no grand "my water broke!" event. Just some minor, uh, leakage.

So we get there and discover that we're not going to be leaving and that our baby will be born in the next 36 hours. I then spend the next three days in the same clothes, no shaving supplies, nothing. The hospital is an hour from home and there's no way I'm going to chance it and run home to grab clothes or supplies.

So... go pack your bag.
