Robert's Sysadmin Blog Unraveling the datacenter one fibre at a time

My tech objectives for the near future:

-Start to run as a non-admin user by default on all my computers. Set up shortcuts for administrative tasks to make life easier.

-Add laptop to home domain and setup handy stuff like offline file sync/briefcase, roaming profile, forlder redirection, etc. simulating the average mobile office worker as closely as possible.

-Start to run Firefox for all web based activities, perhaps even uninstalling IE

-Setup VMware on laptop and get a Server 2003 install setup for 70-291 labs

Making life easier is good. Only in the progress of doing that i somehow always manage to make it more complicated again.

But but but... IE is like a tumor in WinXP :O I can not get rid of it, erased all links superficial so people have to click on any random Moz FireFox icon, STILL some people who ask to use my computer for just a small little thing always seem to find a way to start up IE >_<

This all might just be the perfect excuse for me to go Tux, I already have teh Tux near my screen :P
