Life Update

Sunday, March 4, 2007 7:28 PM

Sorry, no technical update here...mainly life updates.

My workouts have been going really well, although the scale isn't my friend anymore. I've been hovering around 265 and 270 for the last few weeks...can't seem to break that plateau. From a heart-standpoint though, I've probably never felt better. I got on the treadmill last week for the first time in a while (they've had me do other cardio stuff), and the speed/incline they gave me...well, when I started it almost killed me. Now, it's still tough but no-where near my December-shape. Very kewl to see that.

Diet has been my biggest thing to overcome lately. I get a diet from my trainer every other week, but its hard to maintain; there's alot of food to eat, and alot of prep time...time that I just don't have. So I try to eat healthy but a man can only have Subway so many times...and the past few weeks I've cheated way too much (Dairy Queen, pastas...I had a cheeseburger and fries w/gravy for hte first time today in I don't know how long).

We launched our new website (www.imaginets.com) last week, which I'm really proud of. It was a great team effort and we're very happy with the results.

We saw one of our own grow up and spread their wings over the last few weeks as well. The Process Template Editor was Imaginet's brainchild, and was purchased by Microsoft (and is now available as part of the VSTS Power Tools download). Very kewl indeed, and huge props to Ben Gan who was the dev on that.

Youth, youth, youth...its like my other full time job. We've been on the hunt at Ness Ave. Baptist for a youth pastor for almost a year now, and in the meantime I've been filling in as over-seer for the program. We've got a great team though, which definately helps to spread the work out...but still, its a huge investment in time and energy...especially emotional energy. We do a SH study on Thursday nights, and then Youth Service on Sunday mornings, with a good peppering of events every second Friday...add in prep time for all that and you can see how free evenings become a thing of the past. But as much as I'm sounding like I'm complaining, I don't think I could ever not be involved with this ministry. Our youth are incredible...gives you hope that the upcoming generations aren't going to make the same mistakes that us and older generations have.

So that's what's been going on in life over the last little while. There's other stuff that I can't blog about, but if you're in the clique then you know what's going down.

Sigh....IM doesn't help George. I'm beginning to think that this clique is a Winnipeg-only thing. 3/5/2007 6:41 AM | The Igloo Coder
