My first night with the DS

Friday, June 30, 2006 8:23 PM

So its been a few hours of non stop bam-out. The new Super Mario Bros is awesome...kind of a kicked up Super Mario Bros. 3 but without the stupid costumes (explain to me again why a squirrel costume would let him fly?).

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is amazing...Seriously, stop bothering with doing 3-D Castlevania games, and just keep focussing on the awesome 2D line...in fact, just keep making games for hte series on platforms like the DS instead of the next gen consoles...its what fans of the series really want anyway I would think.

Brain Age is...weird. So far I feel like I've paid for a math flash card simulator, but I know there's otehr stuff to unlock still. Very kewl concept.

BC is wiping their figurative @$$ with Toronto 23 - 7 late in the third, although there's still lots of time to play. But still...its BC we're talking about against Toronto. BC should still come out on top.

D'Arcy my friend, your comments on Castlevania have indicated to me that I have finally found the brother I never had. Actually, I do have a brother but I am disowning him as of this moment so that you can be my new brother.

Brain Age is a rocking game but I find its value is in the regular activity traning - I was able to shove myself down to a young age of 20!! I also love sudoku so that probably helps a bit.

I desparately want that new Super Mario game but I'm scared I'll finish it all too fast. 6/30/2006 8:29 PM | Justice~!

Castlevania is one of those games where you just don't try and screw with the formula: 2D, lots of monsters, and huge areas to explore. Every 3-D version seems to only be lacklustre, while every 2D version gets 5/5 in gamer reviews. What I'd LOVE to see is a compilation for the DS. With the Wii coming out though, I guess I'll have to wait to purchase them.

I'm warming up to Brain Age. I unlocked the one where your shown numbers and have to remember what order their in. Very interesting game.

I'm a little scared of the length of Super Mario actually...I'm already in the third area, and I think there's only 8 or 9. But, there's lots to go back and unlock too though (damn star coins...never enough of those things).
