Tis the Season to Get Up Early and go to Best Buy!

Christmas Day came and went. It was a good day filled with turkey dinner, time with my folks, and of course football.

But the real fun came early Monday monring. In Canada, the day after Christmas is a holiday called Boxing Day (very similar to teh holiday Americans get right after Thanksgiving). As is tradition, people line up at crazy hours in front fo their favorite stores in hopes of getting some sort of deal. Every year, me, my cousin, and any friends brave enough to come with, get together in front of our chosen electronics store at insane hours. This year it was Best Buy, and we got in line at 4 AM. Most stores were opening at 6 AM this year, which was awesome...but there really weren't as many good deals. Ah well, it was still fun to be part of the craziness. I did get a pretty good deal on a portable wireless mouse for my work laptop. I might go back and pick up a new microwave this weekend too at some point, but we'll see.

That night however, my ear started to give me a bit of grief. Now, you have to understand I'm really REALLY sensitive about my ears. A couple of Christmases ago, I let an ear infection go on for too long without a doctor checking it out and it landed me on an 8 hour rotation going to the hospital to get antibiotics through an iv. I went to bed on Monday and got up early Tuesday morning to find my right ear entirely muffled and sore. Off to the hospital I went (we have this awesome urgent care center at one of the hospitals where you can get in pretty quick because no emergency cases come through) and was given some drops and pills. So far after three days...not a whole lot of difference, but I guess it taikes time for the antibiotics to kick in...or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I hope everyone had as much fun over the holidays as I did...minus the infections of course. ;)
