Visual Studio 2010 RC Now Available, but what about Windows Mobile?

This is a very exciting release for a lot of people. I certainly enjoy using it. Read an FAQ here.

You can download it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/dd582936.aspx

I want to remind you that Windows Mobile development until further notice is not included in the early previews of VS2010.

Please continue to use VS2008 for mobile development. We are all patiently waiting until MIX10 conference to hear more about the Mobile Developer Tools story.

Be assured that Windows Phone/Mobile development will be part of VS2010, there is no other way around it. It’s just not yet ready for public consumption. [To be honest, I don’t have the bits either] But I would bet it has to do something with the timing of the announcement of new version of Windows Phone.

So stay tuned, but not too hard. You got till MIX10 anyways, where you can find a Keynote speaker is Corporate Vice President of Windows Mobile Program Management at Microsoft - Joe Belfiore. Also there are already 11 Windows Phone placeholders on the agenda, read more here.
