This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave
Thin Clients, VDI and Linux integration from the front lines.... Raw and sometimes unedited notes based on my experiences with VMware, Thin Clients, Linux etc.

So news in from eHomeUpgrade - although to be fair it was also in this mornings Sunday Paper...  ;-))  So is this the convergence that people like me have been looking for?

Well I'd love to be able to tell you the answer but things are a bit busy at the moment and then I'll be cacthing up with my brother late next week for some time wandering around the Whitsundays and the Barrier Reef up north - but while we're taking it easy I might see if I can convince the minister for finance that this device might actually exceed the abilities of the Sky+ unit we were used to in UK?

For those of you in the UK and using a Sky+, you really don't know how lucky you are until you travel further afield.... OK, you might not have a method of downloading the recordings, but other than that it's a pretty reliable consumer product that does what it says on the tin - and once you've lived with Pause LiveTV - you will see anything else as a step backwards.
