I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. So hot of the press - this in from Bink

Last November Microsoft released Virtual Server 2005 R2 with an astonishing price of $99 for standard edition and $199 for enterprise edition. Virtual Server is a direct competitor to Vmware GSX.

Now it seems Vmware strikes back, they are going to make Vmware GSX server free!

Looks to me like VMWare would HAVE to be tying this to at least a high-level OS like 2000/2003 Server? Surely you wouldn't be able to run this on XP SP2? Otherwise wouldn't they be undercutting the Workstation Version?
