The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave
Thin Clients, VDI and Linux integration from the front lines.... Raw and sometimes unedited notes based on my experiences with VMware, Thin Clients, Linux etc.

Well I see yesterday that CoolSmartPhone has posted that the C600 is making an appearance on the UK Orange website, and although I will be keeping a keen eye on how this progresses, I'm not hugely bother that much as I've finally got around to spending the time in getting my head around the Windows Mobile 5 Upgrade instructions to flash my C500 to WM5.

I was a bit concerned at one point when it looked like I could no longer get an ActiveSync connection, but the main thing is that if you've been updating the Phone with Oranges updates you will have the SPL (SmartPhoneLoader?) at too high a level to apply the "patch" that will enable the application of the ROM.

The other point was that I hadn't fully realised why I wasn't getting the USB option from the mtty1.42.exe tool, but this was a case of me not RTFM'ing. Once you kill wescomm so that ActiveSync releases the monopoly on the USB Connection you'll be able to select via USB and then start running the Terminal to the phone over the USB.

Now, the next big thing is to post an image of this connecting the first time through ActiveSync 4.1, very nice setup.....

Later....
