This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave
Thin Clients, VDI and Linux integration from the front lines.... Raw and sometimes unedited notes based on my experiences with VMware, Thin Clients, Linux etc.

I picked this up originally from an article in the MS Exchange Blog

Now this is interesting news, the last I heard some 4 – 6 months ago was that things appeared to be equally split between Notes and Exchange at approx. 120 Million users a piece. The article doesn’t appear to mention actual figures, just percentages, but as Gartner and IDC both agree it does tend to lend weight to each report?

I believe we have yet to see a real impact on Exchange’s growth due to the take up of Mobile devices, my thoughts are that this watershed will probably arrive on the back of the SP2 and Mobile 5 releases. As Exchange is still growing at significant double-digit figures EVEN BEFORE this, what sort of hope does Notes have against this onslaught?

We’re hearing news about Nokia licensing ActiveSync so that it can connect to Exchange Systems but can anyone tell me how to connect SmartPhones and Symbian Devices to Notes? I did try and contact a strong mobile Contact in IBM here in UK regarding Notes a little while ago and I still haven’t been contacted……..

Seems to me the writing is on the wall?
