This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave

Thin Clients, VDI and Linux integration from the front lines.... Raw and sometimes unedited notes based on my experiences with VMware, Thin Clients, Linux etc.

I have had it confirmed from within Citrix that the latest release version 4.2 for the Access Gateway and Access Gateway Enterprise will be anounced and available for download through MyCitrix.Com a week later.

The same goes for the WISP Project, it has seen a little news courtesy of BrianMadden's Site, but essentially this will be formally unveiled at Las Vegas iForum. To a certain extant this will also bring to a close Citrix's pursuit of the "Portal" space and I am assuming it will now be taking all of the legacy components and technology of the old NFuse Elite and MSAM product ranges and concentrating on applying these (where possible) to what it now terms the "Endpoint Analysis" side of things in the Enterprise edition of the Access Gateway.

In an anecdote, that somewhat underscores this, it would appear that a Sales person had shown a Potential Customer a display of his own personal Citrite (Citrix's Internal Employee's Portal) and was being told "What did you show them that for - we're not in the business of selling Portals!"

Enough said?
