There can’t be many more pleasant ways to spend a cold December evening in London than with beer in hand in a room full to the brim with Geeks.

Yep, last night I attended another London Geek Dinner with Robert Scoble at the Texas Embassy.

Richard & Beth have managed to sum-up some of the weirdness of the evening in text and pictures which you can catch here, which now Robert Scoble has linked to. Being on the receiving end of a pair of chocolate nipples does tend to take one momentarily off-stride.

I did want to say a special Hi to a few folks I met ...

I had the pleasure of meeting Jen and Neil Dixon of BritCaster.com they have a really touching story, they actually met via blogging which touched a nerve with me, I had a long distance relationship with my wife via email at the beginning of our relationship. We agreed that often the physical part of a relationship often clouds the important part, which is getting to know each other. I really do believe more relationship would be successful if they used email and a few thousand miles!

Karina Todevold was the Marketing Manager at Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship is now looking for gainful employment in marketing here in the UK, we debated that the secret to marketing success Karina felt it was nostalgia, but I felt that with the power of the Internet all bets are off. What do you think?

A special mention to Anat Melamed for being our cool Entertainment Attaché at the Embassy for the night, this does seem now to be the home of the London Geek Dinner.

Mr C and I kept each other fully supplied with SOL. Apparently Dave didn’t make it to bed till 4 am, he got as far as his study!

It was cool to meet C9's Jaz, Ian I did hear Jared's name properly the first time!?

Oh and what event wouldn’t be complete without all the Usual Geek Suspects, Queen Ian, Girl Geek Sarah, Bazza, low noise to signal Mike, Oliver Sturm and Richard and Beth ... and of course Huge, Lloyd and Robert & Miriam.

Thanks for the Care Bear Balloons and Cake guys!

I’m certainly not going to forget this birthday weekend in a hurry!

Awww... Thanks! It was good to meet you too and sweet to hear your similar story. :) We hope you had a great birthday!

This was our first Geek Dinner, but most certainly won't be our last. See you again soon!

I admit it, I'm a suspect :-) Great meeting you again, Dave, and I hope the rest of your next year will be as interesting as the geek dinner was!
