The best part about being a Geek is getting to play with loads of cool toys and have some new ones to play with.

My best new toy is a Dell Ultrasharp 2405FPW 24" widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor (review here). It’s just HUGE!!! I’m running it at 1920 x 1200 because it would be rude not to. Just goes to show that technology is moving at such a pace these gorgeous monitors don’t cost the earth to buy. So if your looking for a new monitor for Christmas I have no problem in recommending this one.

I also have a new mouse and keyboard, the MX3000 from logitech (review here). Now I'm not usually a lover of Logitech, they always seem to be flashy without substance, typical PCWorld kit. But I have to say that the keyboard has some genuniely useful feature, such as other size keys, because I am a bloke and I have big fingers and a double the size delete key in recognition that this key is often used. Another nice feature is button that takes you straight to your documents directory. Or another button that toggles your MSN Messenger status from 'online' to 'busy'. The laziest feature of the keyboard is a DVD eject button.

I hadn’t understood the simple pleasure of a wireless keyboard until now. I can be really lazy, kick back and type away without the restriction. It’s kind of making me think about my whole office dynamic at home; who needs a comfy office chair when I could have a comfy office sofa?! Anyway, that’s enough big spends for me, the wife wants a new bathroom!
