AzamSharp Some day I will know everything. I hope that day never comes.

One good use of the ATLAS UpdatePanel control and the Timer control is that you can change the Ads displayed by the AdRotator control without doing the POSTBACK. The best thing is that it is pretty simple. Check out the following code:

<form id="form1" runat="server">

        <div>

        <atlas:ScriptManager ID="sm1" runat="server"
        EnablePartialRendering="true" />

       <atlas:TimerControl ID="tm1" runat="server" Enabled="true"
       Interval="5000">
        </atlas:TimerControl>

        <atlas:UpdatePanel ID="up1" runat="server">
        <ContentTemplate>
         <asp:AdRotator ID="ar1" runat="server" AdvertisementFile="~/MyAds.xml"
         />
        </ContentTemplate>
        </atlas:UpdatePanel>

        </div>
    </form>

The file MyAds.xml contains the description about the ads.

This is exactly what I am looking for, but I can't get it to work. Using your code it displays the first add but after 5 seconds or so the adRotator goes blank and never shows again.

Hi,

Had a look at the video, downloaded the sample and still the same problem. I'm using the June CTP.

Chris.

Hi,

I am exactly looking for such a functionality. I am using July FTP. I still face the same problem as Chris does. Please help us to solve the problem.

What does your Ads.xml file looks like. Does it contain all the information about the ads?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see a tick event handler in the above example. Is there implicit behavior that will occur when the timer ticks? If not I don't see how the example can work.

Reklam.xml is similar to ads.xml, only the name is Turkish.
